Riddle me this…

Does this make any sense? Did I miss a day in school? How come Debra Lafave, Pamela Joan Turner, Sandra Geisel, and Amber Jennnings needed to have sex with their students? I don’t want to sound crass, but to me, none of these women looks as if they need to be sexual predators.

-Jennings at trial

-Lafave at trial

I’d like to point out that I will never condone these actions, and I look at this situation the same under all circumstances. Yes, I believe that the general public is being lighter on these women than one would expect. If it were men, they would be in much more trouble; undoubtedly more ostracized and despised.

Teachers who commit these acts are sick. Teachers who violate their student-teacher relationship should be punished harshly. Parents, administrators, even the public expects a high level of professionalism and ethics when it comes to teacher expectations. What were these women thinking? These situations seem more common than ever so you’d assume ephebophiles and pedophiles would reassess their judgement, right? I just can’t get over these particular women and how they chose their victims. All of them could just as easily have walked into a bar and within moments, would’ve found a "volunteer."

It’s repulsive, unacceptable, and in light of their situations, should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I’m more concerned with this growing problem. There is a serious immoral pandemic sweeping across the country. What is wrong with these people? I don’t even want to start on sexual predators. It’s disturbing.

These teachers do it because they can!

I don't disagree that all of these women are attractive, and in some cases, jaw-dropping - that was the whole point. These women preyed on students when they could've easily found a legal, adult male. Also, they would've been able to keep their job and avoid jail time if they didn't prey on youth. It's really inconceivable.

Let's face it guys - anyone who experiences desire for and acts upon their desire for a child - has major psychological problems. The answer to your question is that these women were not interested in a "normal" sexual encounter. They are sick, disgusting and without the moral or ethical standards that dictate to "normal" adults.

You're right that "people" are being too easy on them because they are women - but in my opinion that is dictated by the media. Nobody I've spoken to or heard discuss this issue feels that any of them should be cut any breaks. They have violated the most basic foundation of childhood - that a child should be able to trust an adult.

If it were my child - I would feel no less disdain or rage if it were a male teacher violating my daughter or a female teacher violating my son. And since I am of the philosophy that it is my job to protect my children until I leave this earth - male or female - they probably wouldn't make it to court....cause hell hath no fury like mama...

Well, PIMom, as a 'fury,' what do you prefer? 9mm? .45? .223?

Or a very sharp knife?

Dad - I'm a bit like my own mother - what ever I can get my hands on first will do...hair brush, spatula, 9MM...what ever :O)

Shoot.

The first one was hot. I wish she was a predator to me!

Just kidding, it is very perverted that a 25+ year old finds love and attraction in one who is half their age and in thier early teens.

I blame it on the music and trash television that was spewed to these womem when they were growing up.
What is America coming to?

The same thing is brewing and culminating these days because of the music, television, etc.

Im guessing you will say those teachers were liberals and that is the reason for their escapades.

I challenge you that.

G, you are a moron. I have known this for awhile now, but now I have it in writing. To tie a political affiliation to these women, or any predator for that matter is asinine.

And for the record, secretly you know you do want a women like that to stalk you.

G, I'm not trying to tie on a political affiliation here. I'm just talking about a story that is predominantly showcased in Florida with the Lafave trial in full swing. I'm just curious to see how people feel about these growing situations.

And for the record, I agree whole-heartedly with PI Mom. It's a shame but these women are psychologically twisted and it's horrible that this had to happen, especially because it's putting a scar on the educator's profession.
