All the leading drug companies have lobbyists on Coakley’s host committee: Pfizer, Merck, Amgen, Sanofi-Aventis, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Astra-Zeneca, and more. On the insurance side of things, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, HealthSouth, and United Health all are represented on the host committee

Those are the entities who are FOR ObamaCare, not against it, folks.

And I vaguely recall Obama's campaign propaganda about what side the insurance and pharma companies were on...

Assault on our 2nd Amendment

This is it. They are now beginning the attack on our second amendment rights.

A Bill Before Congress would prohibit ownership of handguns by those who have not obtained firearm licenses. Basically this legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm - any with a clip or ANY pistol unless it is registered:

• You are fingerprinted
  
• You must supply a current Driver's License
  
• You must supply your Social Security #
  
• You will submit to a physical; mental evaluation at anytime of their choosing
  
• Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported & costs $25 Failure results in automatically losing the right to own firearms are subject up to a year jail time.
  
• There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 30; stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18. The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

The Americans With No Abilities Act

President Barack Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress are considering sweeping legislation that will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer - Democrat. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

Under AWNAA, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given so as to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the non-abled, banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as, "Do you have any skills or experience that relate to this job?"

"As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,"said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to her inability to remember rightey tightey, lefty loosey."This new law should be real good for people like me," Gertz added. With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Dick Durbin (Democrat-IL), "As a Senator with no abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for doing so."

Typical liberal BS. The "do as I say, not as I do" mentality is clearly running rampant. I have never realized the amount of liberals out there who want to punish us with taxes and then punish us even more if we don't pay... unless of course, you are a nominee of the O and savior.

WaPo reports:

"A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.

The report, by USA Today, came just before the Senate's Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee was slated to meet to consider Solis's nomination, which had been delayed by questions over her role on the board of the pro-labor organization American Rights at Work. A source said that committee members did not learn about the tax issue until today."

2009: recession or recovery?

More evidence that this recession isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.

 

Frankly, this thing is probably half way over - the typical recession lasts approximately 18-months. Yes, there were tons of layoffs (some were exploited opportunties by companies), some closings (bad management or greed caused a majority of these), and house price declines (market-specific due to get-rich-quick-schemes and entitlement issues) however most people went unscathed.

 

That is precisely why the stimulus plan was jammed through so quickly. The libs couldn't pass legislation if we were already in recovery so let's chant 'doom and gloom' before people see the light at the end of the tunnel.

UPDATE: After discussing this topic with a friend in the logistics (freight) industry, he agreed. He pointed out the noticeable increase in trucking over the last few weeks. Granted, these aren't scientific findings, I am confident that his analysis is relatively reliable.

Deep Sh*t

The financial crisis is evident in this map provided by Reuters. I'm not really surprised - this is just the obvious sh*t that I expect from the PIGs (Party in Government).

What I find to be the most revealing are two points:

1. Notice the states that aren't currently in trouble and what color would you classify them as? Red perhaps?
   
2. Reuters has chosen to ignore Alaska, a state that is run by the infamous Palin. A state that actually has a budget surplus.
   

If everything continues along this current path, I have every intention on moving to the North Plains. I would HATE the winters but I wouldn't miss the gummint.

Job Prediction

Wow. They hit the nail on the head here. Now, if they only spelled "Distributiuon" correctly, the source would seem more credible. I expect nothing more from CNN.
