Catholic Bishop Analyzes Islam

I actually wasn't going to post on this but after reading AB Freedom's post on the execution of a Christian in Afghanistan, I felt compelled. I was leaving church on Sunday and picked up a copy of the Florida Catholic and noticed an article titled, The War of the Worlds, and thought to my self 'Wow! A catholic paper with an article like that - a must read.'

Archbishop Cyril Salim Bustros, an expert on Christian-Islamic relations, explains the gravity of the situation. A great article on the Muslim world population, my only problem with the article is Abp. Bustros almost apologetic attitude about Islam:

"Muslims see their opponents as the godless West. They are convinced of the superiority of their culture and obsessed with the inferiority of their power," Archbishop Bustros said. "Muslims fear and resent Western power and the threat which this poses to their society and beliefs."

Much of that fear is justified by the history of colonialism in the 19th and 20th centuries and by the Western powers' arbitrary redrawing of boundaries in the Middle East after the two World Wars, especially the establishment of the state of Israel in predominantly Muslim Palestine.

Today, many Muslims see themselves "as victims of a widespread anti-Muslim prejudice comparable to anti-Semitism," Archbishop Bustros said.

Definitely a must-read article with an impressive analysis and doomsday implications.

He does sound almost apologetic, or at least "understanding" of why Muslims are the way they are.

That last comment: "Today, many Muslims see themselves "as victims of a widespread anti-Muslim prejudice comparable to anti-Semitism". You know, I don't give a rats' ass about how Muslims "see themselves." I remember 9/11 as I'm sure you do, and everyone who reads you. And if Muslims think I am prejudiced against them, then they are right on.

When they cease and desist from worshipping a pedopheliac who was also a murdering thug, then I shall cease and desist from being prejudiced. When they cease and desist from chopping off the fingers of women for painting their fingernails, then I shall think about no longer being prejudiced. When they quit training kids to blow themselves up; quit chopping the heads off of hostages; quit... oh, never mind. I'm sure you get the idea.

I left a comment on your last post (just so you know).

The Jihadist that hate us and our society must be stopped. There should be no justification for barbaric acts against us or an Western civilization.

That's why I like the Cap'n Bob graphic on the right side of my blog. It reminds me of what they've done to our nation. You can see the hate in their eyes for us.

My number one concern is that this relationship is going to elevate to an extreme and we are going to have a widespread war on our hands.

I have the same Captain Bob graphic as well. And it's there to remind people. I don't need a reminder, and I don't believe you do either.

I left a comment in response to your comment on Patrick's (born again redneck's) blog. It was a bit sharp and so I went back in and apologized. I think I missunderstood what you meant. You might want to go back and clarify. Again, apologies. I sure don't want to pick on fellow Americans who are actually on the side of the US of A! :)

We have a lot of Christian missionaries in Muslim countries that have this mindset and attitude which I totally understand. But I can't bring myself to be quite as understanding. They are brainwashing their children to hate us and it only seems to be getting worse.

Thats why it is so important that we succeed in Iraq to jumpstart democracy in the MiddleEast.

Wow, LMC and I are usually always on the same mark with our opinions. (it is amazing, she sums it usually much better than I can though)
The hate is being breeded at such a rate...that it is like a cancer.

Iraq has to succeed...

P.S. After leaving my comment on your written post...I read the link you provided. Unfortunately I do not see these changes from Islamic believers. I am glad he added that last sentence though...about the UBL Islam.

P.S. I never realized you lived down here too. (smiling) I am going to check and see if you are on my blogrolls...I definitely have to have a link handy...esp with my mind, memory and energy levels...etc these days...otherwise...I'm terrible about getting by regularly or at all if something is not in front of my eyes.

I, too, haven't seen any changes in the attituteds of Muslim-Americans.

BTW, it's nice to meet Floridian.
