A recent report by the UCLA has quantified the liberal slant of the media to prove that the MSM leans left. Drudge came across this article from the Political Science department of the UCLA where a professor studied the writings, coverage, and quotes. It became apparent that there was undue bias:
“Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.
Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter.”
And somebody is obviously out to upset Matt:
“Another finding that contradicted conventional wisdom was that the Drudge Report was slightly left of center.”
Of course this article doesn’t shed any new light per se, but hopefully the MSM will cover the story. Hah.

Yeah, right! The MSM will cover the story when pigs fly!
I don't know why anyone needs to actually do a study to "prove" the MSM is biased toward the left, they prove it themselves every day in everything they do.
Yea, but it's intersting how UCLA performed the study. One could only imagine that the researcher must be somewhat centered or perhaps even rightly-slanted to even perform the study.
It is an apparent slant that can be confirmed to be part the of VRWC (Vast Right-wing Conspiracy).
AHA! I shall note this on my blog as well! It is good to have quanifiable evidence to shut up all the lefties who think the media is somehow "moderate".

This report finds that the Drudge report was Left of center and you think this is a valid study?
Dan, Dan, Dan. Three things:
1) If you want to refute a UCLA researcher, I repeat, a UCLA researcher, so be it.
2) Perhaps his theory is so tight to prevent inconsistency that Drudge leans left - makes sense. I don't think Drudge is a super-Right Winger anyway. As a matter of fact, there have been numerous occasions where his reporting has been questionable.
3) See number 1.
